Andra style Mangala Sutram or Tali bottu

Normally married women wear Mangala sutram. Men tie this to women at the time of marriage.
These things should be there in Mangala sutram.

1. Sutram one should be given by Husband's mother. (count 1)
2. Sutram two should be given by Bride's mother. (count 2)
Both will be in different formats. some people take similar ones. but one given by husband will be flat and brides one should be puffy.
3. We should put one gold rod between two sutras. so that they won't touch each other and make noise while walking and all.(count 3)
4. Two black beads on both sides. (count 5)
5. Two Motis (Muthyalu) on both sides of the string. (count 7)
6. Two Pagadalu (Red beads kind) on both sides of the string. (count 9)
7. One Lakshmi Kasu.(count 10)
8. One small Lotus flower bead. We will get them in small gold shops. (count 11)
If you don't find this, you can add one more Lakshmi kasu. So that count will be 11.
9. You can tie all these things using gold/raagi string or thick yellow thread.

All together count should come to 11 items. Even 9 items is fine. This is how we follow while making Mangala sutram. Happy Married Life . :)

Kubhera puja - coming up

I will write on it shortly. coming soon.

What should be there in Bogipallu

To put Bogipallu for your kids. We need to mix these things and pour on the kid. Married women will put kumkuma and bogipallu to kids. Even Kids will attend this function. Kids will collect whatever we pour on our kid.In some tradition they don't collect.

1. Bogipallu - means small regikayalu.
2. Flowers or flower petals
3. Small sugar cane pieces
4. Small choclates
5. Any change (one rupee and two rupee coins)

Akshinthalu should keep separately. First put kumkuma to kid then pour bogipallu and then put akshinthalu.
After that you can give thambulum to married women and can provide snacks(Optional).

kalesum for puja

This post gives you detailed insight of how Kalesum should be kept for puja.

1. Kalesum can be anything made of ragi or silver/gold . Normally asta lakshmi designs are available in it. if not, we can have a plain one. Put nice pasupu, kumkuma bottus on it . can be three or five bottus.

2. First put one cloth/blouse piece down or on a pita. Put some rice on it.

3. In kalesum put some water (small glass of water is enough), one coin (2 rupees coin), little(Chitikadu) pasupu and kumuma, one vokka inside it.

4. On top of the kalesum put five mango leaves, they should fall sides. I will try to put image soon.

5.On top of the leaves put coconut. put one bottu for it, little big.

6. On top of coconut put blouse piece, it should be in cone shape.

Now your kalesum is ready for puja.

After puja you drink one spoon full of that water in the kalesum and put rest of the water to tulasi plant.
